How to SELL a Novel
A 1 day Course: The next step for those who have written – or are halfway through writing – a novel. A good ‘package’ is the vital first stage in getting a publishing deal. The course will show you how to put together a package that will get you picked off the slush pile, including: covering letter, first page, elevator pitch synopsis, synopsis. We’ll also look at how to find and choose an agent and/or publisher. This is a hands-on workshop. Please be prepared to write, read out, have your work discussed and contribute to discussions.

How to WRITE a Novel

Have you always wanted to write a novel but not known where to start? Or maybe you have a drawer full of beginnings that never get beyond Chapter 1? Or maybe you’re written your novel and had it rejected. The course will concentrate on the central aspects of story telling, plot and character, together with some crafty techniques for writing page-turning prose. This is a hands-on workshop. Please be prepared to write, read out, have your work discussed and contribute to discussions.
